Brooke Olson is a senior at Cornell University from Randolph, New Jersey. At Cornell, Brooke is majoring in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Human Nutrition and minoring in Health Equity. Broadly, Brooke is passionate about addressing health disparities among racial and ethnic minorities. One of her interests is adolescent and child health among these groups, especially within the realm of nutrition. However, she is primarily interested in reducing barriers to care among racial and ethnic minorities who use substances, and on the clinical side, providing effective treatment and rehabilitation through person-centered care that emphasizes cultural humility. Aligning with these interests, Brooke is very excited to work alongside Professor Ezell and our team to conduct research on opioid use in the rural communities of Tompkins County. Outside of academics, Brooke loves to hike and create art. She is also a member of Cornell’s Track and Cross Country team!
