Bachelor of Science
Sabrina was born in Los Angeles but raised in the Greater Flint area. She graduated from the University of Michigan - Flint with a double major in psychology and biology. She developed a passion for neuroscience because of its complexity and how interdisciplinary it can be, with plans on pursuing a PhD in Neuroscience in the coming year. Her love for research stems from working at the University of Michigan where she is studying neurodegenerative diseases, specifically spinocerebellar ataxia type 3, in mouse models. Despite being so neuroscience-oriented, she always found herself thinking critically about the world we live in and how to engage with it. She developed a growing interest in health, environmental disparities, and structural inequalities. She hopes to continue expanding her knowledge in both community-based research + neuroscience together.
