Aashna Kaur is a recent Cornell graduate and current Master's student at Johns Hopkins University, pursuing Health Policy with a Health Disparities and Inequalities certificate.She is from Plainview, New York- a quiet, suburban town with minimal excitement, but currently, lives in Baltimore, MD. Aashna’s interest in health and social welfare policy is dominated by her motivation to create equitable health care delivery systems so that the United States can symmetrically distribute cost and access for preventative health services. Her focus is on the intersection of race, gender, and wealth as contributing to health disparities in this country, adversely impacting minority populations. The research Aashna is currently working on with Relateral reflects this interest, focusing on non-medical opioid use among Black populations in Tompkins County and surrounding rural areas.
